it's just a short nap. between 15-30 minutes give or take (maybe slightly shorter or longer). it gives some people a boost. personally, it makes me more tired.

Power naps are awesome if you can get them into your day. 20 minutes works for me. It is just a chance for you to unwind from pressure and stress for a few minutes.

Peace

I nap 2-3x/day, but that's because napping is the only sleep I get when it's not the weekends.

I love power naps. I take 15-20 minute naps sometimes, or 2-3 hour bouts of sleepin' if at all possible. The latter usually only occurs if I got shit sleep the night before and I somehow have 2-3 hours of free time that day. The 15-20 minute naps I creep in on the bus or something.

I try not to allow myself to enter REM. Since I dont normally fall asleep quickly staying under 40 minutes usually works well.

I try to take a nap (under 30min) after I train but it is easy for me because I work from home. I also walk a lot which helps me sleep better at night.

When I first started to nap I couldn't relax enough to sleep. I just ended up tossing and turning. But if you do it at the same time for a few weeks your body begins to adjust. If you sleep too long it will likely work against you because you won't be able to slep at night, so keep your naps short...
For me it is just a way to wind down, to destress and regain my focus...

There's no way I could talk a power nap for 15 - 20 minutes. I wouldn't want to wake up from such a short rest, and if I did, I'd feel really tired for the next few hours.

For me, a power nap is simply laying down for 10-20 minutes. I dont fall asleep, although i do close my eyes and I feel recharged when I get up.

Heres how I train.

You are supposed to power nap in 30 minute intervals because your brain goes through a cycle of rest and rejuvenation every 30 minutes, or hour. Some doctor came to our school and preached "power naps" for an hour and a half. He showed us all sorts of charts and graphs about the necessary amounts of sleep we should get and etc. I thought it was going to be boring but turned out to be the best assembly of this school year.

Objective: Gain 20-30 pounds in five months.

Weekly Weights & Heights:
4/25/06 -- start -- 5'9, 156
5/04/06 -- fever -- 148 (no food, no supps)
5/14/06 -- one week -- 159 (10 pounds...damn)

I sleep for at least 30 minutes a day during my History period which is directly after my lunch with is directly after my workout period so it's pretty nice. At home I just sit on the porch and pass out for an hour a day usually.
