Slightly arch your back and keep your scapula retracted the entire duration of the set, even on the negative. If you're using a wide overhand grip, then make sure your shoulder are moving in the frontal plane and you are adducting (Think the opposite of a lateral raise, but using your elbow joint also) the shoulders as opposed to extending (Think the opposite of a front raise) them. If you want to use a closer grip then you should focus more on shoulder extension.

Grasp the bar overhand wider than shoulder width.
Keep a natural arch in your back.
Pull straight down to the FRONT!
Picture you shoulder blades moing down and in towards your spine.
Repeat.
