Right, Time to get serious.

When my next pay packet comes in I'm heading down to my local gym, and signing up; I've been reading alot around here, and looking at the members gallery, its exceptionally inspiring. So thank you guys & gals, LOADS.

I have my mind set on atleast loosing a bit of weight (I'm not exceptionally overweight; Infact I don't think I am, but still, I need to get fitter!).

Last time I weighed myself I was 10 Stone 4lbs.
I am approximatly 5'7 perhaps a little bit under 5'7.

I will probably go to the gym about twice a week (I'm on a full time course at the moment, so I dont have THAT much time, because I have work to do aswell... anyway....)

My general workout plan will be something like this:
Stretch - Obviously

Free weights - 10 sets of 6 (If I do more will it overstrain my body?)
Leg Weights - 10 sets of 5
Running machine - 30 minutes Level 4 in the last 8 minutes or so I'll wind down through 3,2,1
Situps - 10 sets of 5-6

As I said, I want an overall fitness, this plan, along with my healthy eating which I've already started should if not lose my little belly, at least make me fitter overal

Comments please? Thanks

I think twice a week isn't enough time for it to really impact you. You should make time to go at least 4 times a week. Instead of doing cardio for 30 mins with weight training make it a separate day.

Read the stickies at the top of the training forum, you have alot more to learn! Also, 10stone 4lbs wtf you need to put on weight fast, not loose it! What age are you? You can gain muscle as your goal and get fitter you know!

Cow Pimp - If you don't train your legs you're a dumbfuck. I'm not going to elaborate on why. If it isn't obvious to you, then you deserve the marginal results that you get and hideously unbalanced/injury prone physique that you will build.

Seriously at that age you need to put some muscle on, forget about nefin else. Sort out a diet or eat loads. Im a little younger than you and at a similar height but I weigh 11stone 7lbs. I need to put some weight on, so you definately must. Do you konw your body fat %? What I reccomend is eating 10% above your maintenace all clean. I have done this and worked out 3 times a week with my goal muscle size. Yet when I had my fitness testing at college I suprisingly done better. My endurance has increased. I improved on the bleep test from 11.3 to an amazing 14.7. So even though I havent done much cardio and fitness isnt my goal, I have improved more than likely because of my diet.

what do you mean you haven't got the money? If you buy the membership you have access to the gym everyday. Don't pay one day at a time!!

If you've only got 2 days a week for weights, I'd vote for a full body routine.

Actually, I didn't think of that £28 for the year.
I thought it was pay for the induction and then pay a set amount to get in,
I just checked the price list.

Cheers for that
