no good reason to train chest and triceps on different days![]()
i have been stuck at bench pressing 295 for 7 reps for some time now. in the meantime i have been getting stronger in my close grip bench press (which i do on a different day), going from 245 for 9 reps to 265 for 7 reps in the matter of three weeks. how can i be getting stronger in my close grips but not for my bench press? if my tri's are getting stronger why isn't my bench going up?
mon. flat bench 4sets and 4sets of flys
wed. close grip 4sets and 4sets of pushdowns
i only included the revelent excercises....not everything i do

Maybe your triceps aren't your weakest link when you are bench pressing. For me, my upper back held me back from hitting good numbers for the longest time. I have recently improved my back size and strength wise and my bench press saw a nice little growth spurt as a result.
