Ahahaha, that is great. I would say snatch, clean, and squat (more specifically the full squat).
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

    Overhead press is pretty under-used.

It shocks me how many people leave out deadlifts though.

The C&J would be number one in my book. Power, strength, skill, and a super high level of metabolic activity all wrapped up in one.

I would place rowing next. All these white collar workers need to do more rowing, and learn to do it properly. Get those damned shoulder blades back!

Bulgarian squats come next. People don't give unilateral movements enough love. These will help you improve balance, ankle and knee stability, help correct imbalances between legs, and activate all kinds of muscles throughout the thigh and pelvic girdle.

from my experience, i never seen one person do a deadlift in my gym this whole year. Not fuckin one guy. Squats come next from what i been through. We have 2 or 3 guys out of 35 who do squats, and even those do a half assed job.

Seated rows! Keeping your posture correct while pulling back heavy weights is tough!

Sorry, I don't see large group foundational movements like Deads and Squats being much underrated, Foreman.

    Upperbody:
    Pullups/chins
    bb/db drag curl
    wide-arm pushups, feet elevated.

    Lowerbody:
    lunges (and step-up/spit)
    hyperextensions/reverse hypers
    plyometric movements

Edit: yeah, I concur, seated rows kick ass, and are usually ignored..

knuckle raises (you've seen it the guy sitting on the bench press who holds himself up on his knuckles and you think he's about to leave then he drops right back down on the bench)
45 lb discus drop (very popular in second story gyms)
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Depends on the audience you are talking about. When it comes to your average gym goer, I think they are underrated. When it comes to the posters on these here forums, then they generally aren't.

Indeed, you're average gym goer whores the bench press, curls, and various cable exercises with shitty ass form... I loved it earlier today, some middle aged man was doing some cable pulldowns around the same area I was squating. After his first set, he put a lifting belt on, and then continued his sets of pulldowns with it....

Another day, I saw a kid from one of my classes at them gym with a friend... They did nothing but use one of the curling machines for ~30 minutes before I left...

Well, I train in my Highschools weightroom so I see most guys doing deadlifts, squats, bench, incline, dumbell presses, pullups, lunges, step-ups, pushups, situps, dips(weighted and non), leg curls & extensions, power cleans, and C&J's, curls, abs, hyperextensions. That's about all I see. Not much cable work ( we're to small and poor to avord cable machines ).

    Dips
    Chins
    Deadlifts
    Nicely said.
I have felt a different yet more accomplished "sore" feeling in my CHEST from weighted dips.
Chins are great for biceps. God damn, I rememebr the first time I did these AFTER wide grip pullups.
Deadlifts are just avoided mostly. I cant see why. And its exhausting explaining to people how many muscles are used.
    6' 217lbs (10/18)
    Bench 365 (12/3)
    Weighted Pullups 80lbs 3x3 (3/19)
    Squat 370
    Deadlift after herniation 385lbs 3x3 (3/17)

yeah ppl under rate pull ups for example......although it's the basic exercise for the back.....many ppl do pull downs and never do pull ups....pull downs though are easily cheated and u can use ur rear delts and traps to get the weight down....i think this is because these movements is basiclly without weights so they are considered as cardio type...though some times ur body weight is heavier and also weights could be added.......

Well if your talking to a kid, everything would be overrated except for Bench and curling. So I'll pick those two for being underrated speaking as a kid. I think that's all they think about, Bench and Curls.

Good list. People seriously neglect unilateral movements in general, except for the occasional person doing uni rows on a bench with DBs.

Farmer's walks kickass. Those full body movements are underrated in general. Overhead squats, the clean & jerk, the snatch, Turkish getups, landmines, etc.
