Mountain Biking

I know this isn't considered bodybuilding, but I wanted something interesting to do for cardio. I can't stand getting on a cardio machine in the gym next to all the soccer moms.

So, anyway, I bought a mountain bike today and I took it out. Man that thing is fun!! Seriously, I should have done this a long time ago. I don't even care if it helps me loose a little fat anymore, I want to go again just for the fun of it.

Anyone else do this?

I used to ride my bike all the time. I also skateboarded for a while. My motivation with those two activities was never health. Nonetheless, I think biking is a great way to get your cardio in if you want to use it for that too. Running on a treadmill sucks balls in my opinion.

Bikes rule! Track, mountain, road, BMX, it's all good.

I'm 35 years old and have been riding for as long as I can remember.
For me there is nothing like being at one with your bike...making circles, experiencing that flow, being in the zone; being connected to the moment. If you ride you know... it's more satisfying than any drug.

There is this one old guy where I live (who's like 70+) who rides an old cruiser who has so much style and class. He wears this funky fedora that he tips up when he passes by the ladies. Just seeing him ride puts a smile on my face.

Doesn't matter what you ride, just that you ride. Own it.

I actually just got my mountain bike out of the shed and started riding around again. I got lots of woods I bounce around through.

That's awesome clemson! I bought my first (real) mountain bike a year ago and it is one of the best investments I've made in my entire life--it's great how mtbiking is free, aside from some really cheap permits that last like five years (on Long Island). When it rains, I use the stupid stationary bike in the gym, but I feel that's not half as healthy as mountain biking. There's no motivation when you're in a gym, as opposed to when you're whipping through the woods, come up on a hill and it's like, either you climb this hill or you end up walkin. Bottom line is, it's a great rush!

I also love mountain biking. I'm out hitting the trails a few times every weekend/week. Ever since I started mountain biking my endurance has increased dramatically. I love that sport!
