Stay away from any movement that you have to repeatedly jerk the weigth up. Balstic movements wil lead you down th einjury highway. If you want big delts do some heavy but smooth military presses followed by some heavy shrugs. Build muscle not idiocy.

you probably shouldn't be cleaning weight with a thick bar anyway. You need a good olympic bar that spins well. that will ensure that it turns in your hand and doesn't stick.

Another reason not to do lifts like that unless you are trained to do them with propper form. Find an Olympic coach and learn the basics before you kill yourself son.

He doesn't really need an Olympic Coach. Squat down like you would in a DL, hands shoulder with apart, make sure to drop the butt. Explode with the legs, and drop under the weight. Don't pull it up to your chest that's the problem. Drop underneath while popping the wrist. 100 Lbs isn't a lot of weight, but for a beginner ( around your age ) it sound about right.

I say that a total newb should do a lot of reading and practice with a broomstick or some other object that consists of a negligible amount of mass. Really, everyone should have someone experienced teach them how to perform the Olympic lifts, but I know that's not always feasible.

teh olympic lifts are way to complicated to learn by someone posting an instruction.

you need to get someone to teach you.
