i hate days that I have to skip the gym, I feel groggy, unmotivated, and depressed !!! it's almost like a drug....but am I harming myself...??
i'm not working the same muscles everyday or nothing....
my schedule is day 1 : Arm exercises - alternating through all machines
+ 20 min cardio
day 2: Leg Exercises - alternating all available machines
+ 20 min cardio
day 3: Ab Exercises - 3 non equipment, 2 equipment df + 30-40 min cardio
day 4: Cardio - Straight cardio for 45 - 60 minutes
Your body does need time to recovery, so a day break from lifting at least once in your week should be taken. Some people say no more than 2 training sessions in a row.

Where are the chest, back, trap, deltoid workouts?

That said, your split sucks.
i'm a pure newb...........gonna be two months this thursday.!!!!
yo instead of bashing me.......how bout some advice???
going to a bigger gym when my memberships done, fuc it, going tomorrow....my current gym has very few machines. Can't wait for more machines...!!!!!
I wouldn't lift every day. I think exercising daily can be done, but lifting every day is counterproductive. Aerobic activity of reasonable duration and intensity can be performed on the days you don't lift though.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
You probably shouldn't look too forward to a lot of machines. Machines are good when used in moderation, but your staple should be good ole iron - dumbbells and barbells. Just starting off, you should focus mainly on concetration exersices and really do not need a seperate day for arms. Throw in a little arm work after chest and back.
You must squat and deadlift.
BTW, a lot of the guys on this sight need a good pop upside the head and their teeth rattled a few good times with all of their smart ass commentes. Their Mom's must be proud of them.
a) depends what you do everyday and how you break things up
b) depending on (a), it would also depend on how long you have been working out (training age) and how much frequency/volume you could handle.
c) everyone should have AT LEAST one day off per week. Even the most elite of the elite athletes take one day off a week. why do you think you should be any different?

ah fuc.......don't mind smart ass comments....as long as it includes some form of knowledge and I"m cool.....I just don't like stupid posts like ^^^^^ one.
but cooll....thnkx for the advice........DEADLIFTS and SQUATS, gonna do those today..havn't tried it yet!!! any advice on form and technique?

(A) I'm 22, been training for 2 months, frequency/volume i'd say inbetween moderate and pretty strong. Not iron man
(B) Because I'm gifted and have special powers. So then if I lift for 6 days, is it okay to do cardio the 7th?
okay since no one wants to post how they split their workouts......i'm gonna start a new thread title " How do U split your workouts/???" Maybe they're s alrady a thread like that...........

3-4 days of resistance training in a week is plenty for a natural trainee. You have to let yourself recover, and I don't just mean your muscles and nervous system. You're never going to allow your connective tissues to adapt if you keep pounding them 6 days a week!

Try reading the stickies at the top of the page. They go over various ways you can setup your lifting program.

did you not read the post.....rest on at least one day a week!
also, all that cardio may be conterproductive to your goals.
all that training may be counterproductive to your body, depending on if you are eating enough calories or not.
how you set up a training program is up to you. read the stickies and come up with something and we can help you refine it. No one is going to just write something out for you. Help us help you. Also, we don't know what your training looks like now....how do you expect us to tell you what we think you should be doing if we don't know what you ARE doing?

okay okay........got it!!!
but my goals are to trim down and be fit for summer... winter i'm gonna bulk up.

if your goals are to trim down, then you can't do all that training because obviously you aren't intaking enough calories to adapt to it. You will over train yourself to hell and loose a good bit of muscle in the process.
okay......found this in the sticky......i'm pretty new so this doesn't look so complicated for me.
Day 1, CHEST
Day 2, BACK
Day 3, Cardio
Day 4, Shoulders
Day 5, Arms
Day 6, Cardio
Day 7, Legs
then repeat from day 1
that way, after every two days of lifting.......i'll take a day off for cardio, which gives time for my muscles to heal???? can it work like that? help me tweak this.............
i'm probably startin to annoy some of you by working out 7 days a week....but my main motivation for all this is stress/depression. I was taking anti-depressants because of a genetic disorder/rec drugs/enviroment, but ever since I started going to the gym, I don't need drugs, and feel much better than before. But when I take a day off, that day I feel like shit all day....and that feeling like shit, is unexplainable to someone who doesn't need anti-depressants. this smilee explains it

a day off is a day off. cardio is not a day off.
the program is pretty much awful. you train legs only once and do all that cardio and you can say goodbye to what little leg muscle you do have.
try to split your workouts into upper and lower or total body workouts so that you can reaise hte frequency of your training and HIT THOSE LEGS!
Since you are a relative newbie, I would say to go with total body workouts 3'x a week for starters and only cardio twice, one day of interval work and one day of steady state work.

i don't thionk total body workout would be good for me. I need more than that. Since it's been recommended on this board over and over not to do more than an hour or so....1 hour of working all muscles isn't really satisfying.
I am a newb, but have progressed passed the pure newb stage. A split, more intense working is probably better.
but what do you mean by interval work and steady state work?
and why only cardio 2 times a week? my goal is to trim down for summer, and lose the 1 inch layer of fat off my stomach. I'm not trying to be a dick and not take your advice here..... just trying to learn. Come winter time, when I bulk up, then I'll stop doing so much cardio.........is that resonable?

you don't think it is enough for you?
you clearly are clueless about training and that is evident by the fact that you don't even understand what steady state or interval work are.
you don't understand the human body at all if you are asking to do that much cardio to get lean.
Yet, despite all of this, you know what is best for you.
here is an idea....go ask someone their opinion...when they give it to you...tell them that you don't like it.
