Do some heavy drinking at night before you train the next day. That will get you in the groove.
Not sure there's much more you can do. The high rep slow stuff sounds best to me.
I've been skiing once before, years ago, and I remember my quads copping it pretty hard. I've got 6 weeks till I'm on the slopesand didn't really think about training for it. For cardio i'm just going to be doing a lot of cycling up hills around my house, I don't like jogging. But my question relates to weights in the gym. You spend a lot of time with your legs bent supporting yourself and absorbing impacts/changes of directions when skiing. Is it worth doing very slow (5-10seconds each direction) squats, 1 legged leg press with lighter weights to prep for this? (1 legged as my posture is awful I constantly favour one side/twist body etc). Or should I just stick to a usual leg strength routine and let the cardio take care of the rest?
Thanks.

What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)
high reps would be my best bet. LAst time I went snowboarding, I noticed after the first day my legs were pretty sore, but a couple of advils took care of that. And take it from me my legs at the time were pretty small, personally I wount worry to much just take some advils with u by the 3rd day you will be fine. If you can take the 2nd day of skiing. now the part of bad posture is more of getting used to the set of skies and the type of snow, mostly if you only been once skiing before.
By the way where are you going skiing, I am in florida its summer here in the us no snow. Cant wait for december to come so I fly up north to go skiing.
Australia. I live in Brisbane but will be skiing down near Sydney. cheap and easy. Whats in advils, what do they do? The only medication/tablets ive taken in the past 6 years has been cold and flu tabs.
my legs are pretty small. well, in circumference anyway. long fuckers.

Just go out there and enjoy the snow. good luck in your trip, wish I was there.
yeah the pain doesnt bother me too much, more the ability to ski all day and drink all night. might take some advils just in case, thanks for the tip. havent taken painkillers for something like 6 years, ill be breaking my drought!
might just concentrate on my bicep curls for the night activities...
just go have fun, and ignor the rest.
good luck
