That's what happens when you starting training at the age of 7 or 8. I wish the American goverment would group the kids with type I muscle fibers and type II muscle fibers. That way, the type I muscle fibers kids would participate in endurance sports like track and the type II muscle fibers kids would be sent to do wrestling and lifting.

Seriously, this would get kids to start participating in extracurricular activities and sports after school and not sit on their fat asses playing video games all day while obesity is rapidly increasing every year. The Russians should talk some sense into us!

thats pretty good, it just goes to show that if you learn soemthing that early(i mean that, that those kinds of lifts are very technical) you can get pretty fucking awesome at it...

More money in American sports so why train a kid to lift weights here when they make 0 money for it.....if you are going to push a child toward a sport better it be one they can make millions at.

How about doing something that you love, have pride in and represent your country in the olympics? That's the problem, America is too caught up in their own greed and usually play half-assed if they are not making enough dough.

I'm not saying they can survive without any money .. of course they'll have to make some money but they don't need excessive millions to buy 3 cars, a big home, basketball courts, a pool and so forth.

By the way, there is nothing wrong with working a regular job and doing olympic lifting at the same time. It requires a lot of dedication and hardwork but only very few people would actually be able to pull it off because it's not always about the money to them.

Well taking a 7-8 yearold and testing his/her muscle tissue to see what they should train for is not about love at all.
99% of all American kids who play sports would rather play baseball, hockey, football, basketball ect than Olympic lift so it would seem we have it right and the Russians do not.

Cool Vid. Great watching O lifters train. Amazing how light they can make heavy weights look light by using great technique.
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)

And there's nothing wrong with loving the major sports as well. It's not about the money for many of those young athletes as well. And you can represent your country in international competition in many of the major sports as well.

But hey, it's natural for you to feel disappointed that more kids don't take up the hobby that you personally enjoy. One can say that about any athlete, really.
