for some reason 8 seems to work out really really well for me as far as size, i havent worked in that reprange for a while.. currently working in the 5 and under rep range and its making me stronger and a shit load leaner

they say going to failure is bad sometimes because on the rest of your sets/exercise you will suck, and you won't be able to train as frequent if you train to failure as if you do not train to failure (at least that is why I think they say it is bad sometimes)

I only lift 4 days a week...keep it short and intense.

It's not bad if you allow ample time for the fatigue to dissipate, as fitness gains last much longer than fatigue.
