    Numbness

    Well, when I do squats, my left hand basically goes numb for sometimes up to 2 hours. I don't understand whats up.

    squats put the shoulder in a tough position. Stop squatting for awhile and try and increase the flexibility in your shoulders, chest and lats. it sounds like a nerve is getting impinged somewhere in there. If it keeps happening go get it checked out. Do something other then squatting for a few weeks while you work on bringing your flexibility up to speed.

    That's what I figured, that a nerve was being pinched or something when the bar was resting on my shoulders...

    it isn't so much the bar resting on the shoulders as much as it is your ability to externally rotate to hold the bar in position and stabilize it. that is where the problem comes in and that is why you need to increase your flexibility before you start squatting again.
