Pylometrics?

since i've started weight training i've pretty much neglected the core and lower body... terrible, i know.

However, i'm realizing what i'm missing and was looking up some pylometic excercises... I'm tryin to build strength for speed, jumping... etc.

I want to do excercises not involving weights, as I train them through squats, etc.

I've seen Side Box Jumps, Knee tuck jumps and squat jumps.. any others that could help me?

Alternating leg bounds, power skips for distance or height, double leg jumps for distance, depth jumps, lateral barrier hops, alternating jumping lunges...

There's probably more I could come up with, but I'm tired as shit right now and that's what came off the top of my head, heh.

Plyometrics help improve rate of force development and utilization of the stretch shortening cycle. They are great when it comes to changing direction, quick stops, leaping, etc. The closer the movement is to the actual activity that would occur in game is going to have the best carryover though.

How long have you been resistance training? How old are you? Do you have experience doing any type of power work? If so, how recently? All of these factor in to how much volume you should use.
