Alternatives to DB Rows
Simple question....The place I'll be working out now only has 80lb dumbells, which is not nearly enough weight for me to do rows with...aside from Bent over bb rows, name a few horizontal pulls that would be sufficient...

Find you a bench under a high pulley row. Lie on the bench and do pulldowns witha wide grip. Brace your feet up against whatever you can place your feeey on. My smith has a butterfly machine I place my feet against. Add all the weight you can handle and pull it down

Body weight/weighted rows. Lay on your back, put your feet on a bench or stability ball, then pull yourself up. You can use the smith machine bar for this.

Sternum chinups are great too. They are hella difficult. Seated cable rows are another one of my favorites if you have a machine for that. |

I think I may have found a way to set up glute ham raises!!!!! Turn a bench sideways, or parallel to the bar of the smith machine and drop the smith's bar low enough to hook my feet under....either load it up with enough weight to hold my feet down or have someone sit on the bar and get to work!! I'm gonna try em out today... |

You could do the One Arm rows on the Smith Machine. Basically the same movement.

Good ideas from the last two as well.
You said you have cables, are you referring to a cable stack or something that has an adjustable pulley height? If so, you can do seated cable rows while sitting on the floor using one of those. I put the pulley at it's highest level, get a little lean back, and prop my feet up against the equipment. Works pretty well. |
