    bent presses and sets

    1. Should i start doing db bent presses as my shoulder exercise for overall shoulder development instead of military pressing? I think it works the side delts better than military pressing because of the side movement of the weight from ur body when in the military press u move the weight overhead. I'll probably get better results from it. Plus its a compound movement so thats good.

    2. I know this is completely off topic from the bent pressing question but i was wondering if there is are specific ranges for sets that u should do for ur goals. Such as there are rep ranges for strength (3-5), strength+size (6-8), and just size (9-12).

You could always do DB military pressing. That will hit your lateral delts better because of the change in shoulder articulation.

The rep ranges should be the same regardless of exercise.

It hits them more than bent pressing? Damn i tried bent presses and felt more definition in my lateral delts than i ever did with military pressing. I dont mean to be a pain or anything but could some of u guys try db bent presses and compare it to db military presses? Its more like this (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exer...ame=Bent+Press exept with a dumbell) though and ur hands rotate like when arnold pressing.

And cowpimp so its alright to do 4-6 sets when training for size? Many people do 3 sets for it.

    Why not try See-Saw presses?

    http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/vide...eesawpress.mpg

btw - The bent press is a good exercise, one requiring much practice like anything good.
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)

I really don't think a bent press hits the delts as hard as a military press, but do as you please. I think it's a cool movement, albeit a little bit risky.

Sure. I mean it's basically an Arnie Press alternating and standing.
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)

Risky on the back you mean? or not having the weight fall on your head?

when u see-saw press ur body leans a little bit to the sides so i dont know if thats gonna make a difference from regular arnold pressing. If it does please tell me.

Anyways can some of u guys try dumbell bent presses and compare it to military presses on ur lateral delt definition. This is how to do it http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exer...ame=Bent+Press exept with a dumbell and ur hands rotate like arnold pressing.

I don't like the lumber spinal rotation combined with bearing weight. I don't think most people have the core strength for that kind of shit.

I really don't think it's going to make a significant difference.
