Going to the gym is fun but I prefer training at home. It's just easier.

Shit I love a good gym. Never had the funds for a good home gym...and I love the gym atmosphere..and when I'm there, I'm there to work...no distractions like what I would have at home..

I like working out at home because if I want a piece of equipment I dont have to wait for it. But it sure would be nice to have an air conditioner where I work out, haha

I like the versatility of the gym, but the simplicity and freedom of a home setup. It's really personal preference.

I enjoy one day at the gym and one day at home, it seems to work for me. The gym has equipment that I don't care to have at home.

I'd rather workout at a home gym if I had all the equipment I wanted.

    Gym all the way.

I"m guessing you'd have to spend thousands to get all the eqiupment you get at a gym.

Two years ago, I spent $900.00 for a power rack with upper & lower cables, all the bars & attachments, bench, and 400 pounds of plates. I've added about $150.00 worth of plates since then, so I'm around $1,050 now.
I modified the rack with dip bars. I've got all I need minus the headaches. I can walk into my weightroom, lift, shower, and I'm done. I have no 15-20 minute drive to and from the gym, no waiting on benches or equipment, and no idiots to deal with. I stopped going to the gym 18 months ago and I'll never go back.

The only things I would miss are the dumbbells (Though you can get adjustable Olympic dumbbells) and the cable equipment, which is kind of expensive. I like seated cable rows and face pulls, though I could easily live without pulldowns.

Since I work at a gym I just workout after I finish with my morning clients so that there is no added commute, but I feel you there, that is annoying for most people. I also have a key to the gym so I could go in any time I wanted, but it is nice being able to go into your basement at 1AM to lift if you feel so inclined. I also miss blasting whatever music I want and wearing no shirt or shoes while working out.

By the way, sounds like you have a nice setup!

Thanks, but I shudder at the thought. I would probably end up punching the other politicians in the face when they do their typical dodging of questions and lying.

I'm usually too focused on my workouts to make good use of the eye candy, but I hear ya. Nonetheless, I would rather just keep the gym for working out and goto a bar or something for chicas.

I have a set of 5#-25# DBs for my wife and kids and adjustable DBs for me.
I also go shirtless and blast my own music! There are tons of benefits to lifting at home.

Happily married with 4 kids...don't need eye candy at the gym. I do miss it sometimes though.
