Which of these exercuses will get me more back muscle and mass. From my readings on animalpak.com I've read that pullovers get u think and a wide back and Reverse BB rows work both the inner and outer back, so im confused on which one i should do. Dont tell me to do both i tried that and had bad luck.
If Reverse BB rows are more effective, is there a way to do them so they'll hit the lats more? Should i do them close-gripped, wide-gripped....?
What are reverse BB rows? Are you talking about using an underhanded grip?
I like both exercises, though I feel like rowing is more effective overall in developing a nice and functional back since it recruits your traps/rhomboids as well.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
yea im talking about the underhand grip. Ok thats cool i'll do reverse bb rows (http://www.animalpak.com/html/articl...=108§ion=). Is there a way to do them so they'll hit the lats more because they seem to work the traps more.

My favorite exercise for the lats are pullups done with a moderate to wide grip, at least wide enough so that you can adduct (Think the opposite of a lateral raise) as opposed to extend (Think the opposite of a front raise) the shoulder.

How much more stress is placed on the lats when you adduct as opposed to extend? Is it possible that because of varying insertion points of muscle between different people that a closer grip would be more beneficial or vice versa?

That's hard to quantify, and yeah, it is going to vary somewhat based on the origin and insertion points and bone structure affecting their positions during movement.
Regarding a closer grip, I would think that a shoulder width grip or around there is optimal for most everyone. When you start to go wider you begin to turn the shoulder extension into transverse extension (Think rowing with your upper arms perpendicular to your body), which places more stress on the posterior delts.

Ok so ur saying the best way to hit the lats more when doing reverse bb rows is to not change anything at all, just stick with the regular/shoulder width grip and it'll work them more than doing it with a cg or wg?
Personally I don't see how anyone can do heavy reverse grip rows. I think it would put to much strain on the wrist. Now if you use a EZ Curl Bar it probably would work

Who said anything about doing heavy reverse bb rows?????? My question was if doing reverse bb rows with a CLOSEGRIP or WIDEGRIP would work the lats more.....how is that so hard to understand?? This is probably the 5th time i had to ask this simple question. Now please just answer which way would work them the most.

Go fuck yourself you little punk. Your initial post was on Reverse grip Rows or pullovers. I said rows. I also stated doing them with a reverse grip can be hard on the wrist as the weight goes up. As for a grip it doesn't take a fucking genius to understand that it will be even harder on the wrist if done with a close grip. Shoulder width grip top a wide grip works best. Personally I use a grip about 3-4" out from my shoulders.
Now take your 15 year old ass and stand in the corner until old Toughy tells you to come out. Is there any part of the above you didn't understand?
