Lou Schuler says you are advanced when you start a new program, and make all necessary changes within the first two weeks.

Or when P-funk says so....he really did say that...in his book....that I read.

Hopefully this isn't a routine coming out of a magazine like Flex. They used to go by size, and were that the case you would always be a beginner or intermediate if you are gifted and not juicing. So, hopefully you aren't reading that excrement.

I think your a beginner until your "newbie gains" stop, and it starts to get harder to gain strength/size.

When some random person outside a gym asks you what they need to do to get big.
Im 20. 6'3'' 235 lbs. Want to get to 8% body fat, +315 bench, +500 squat, and reach a weight between 230-240.

If you have to ask whether you're advanced or a beginner, you're a beginner.

I think you're no longer a beginner when you...
    - can clearly see the results of your training.
    - have trained for at least 6 months.
    - and when you no longer see yourself as a beginner.

And P-Funk has to give his permission, of course (!)

This is what Foreman left on my answering machine last night. It was so late I thought it was just another crank call but when I replayed the message in the morning I recognized the tone of his voice, even though it sounded like he was speaking through a mask.

beginner- You are an empty vessel; you realize there is a lot to learn.
intermediate- Your vessel is full therefore you think you know everything.
advanced- You are an empty vessel; you realize there is a lot to learn.

I think the progression from beginner to intermediate should be much faster than intermediate to advanced if all you are considering is training age. I would definitely not consider myself advanced.

The best thing is for us beginners, at age 19 like myself, all I need is Vitamins, Protein, and MAYBE Creatine in order to see great gains along with a solid diet and training regimen. Unlike all these old farts who have to juice it up like Foreman :P

It has less to do with age and more to do with experience. And half these "old farts juicing it up" would love to be your age again and have your body so shut it.

I know, that's why I am bragging about it lol. For them, juicing is almost necessary to get any bigger, for us young ones who are within the first 2 years, we gain just by keeping the essentials in check. Although, they've worked their asses off to get where they are, I am just beginning the ride. I have great respect for them, which is why I bug them so much with newbie questons. Thanks Old Farts :P

The most I've done is 285. That was some kind of really on point day though. I've done 275 a few times though.
