    20 rep squats

What do you guys think about doing sets of 20 rep squat multiple times per week for hypertrophy?

While looking into it I found this website http://www.leehayward.com/squats.htm
Kind of silly, i.e. doing pullovers to "expand your ribcage", but it seems to have some interesting info nonetheless.

Adding onto my last post, i think the only thing those 20 rep squats would do would be warm up your pituitary or something, i don't really know, i would think they'd be inferior to mass building in the 6-10 range and almost useless for strength building (in comparison). Then again, if you're a guy who has never done squats and then trys the 20 rep one, guarrantee you'll still get results.

I think one week like that is fine cause you obviously plan on taking the next month off for CNS recovery.

Yeah, I would have to take a week off after like 2 weeks of that craziness. Maybe one day a week I would do 20 rep squats. If you are really using a weight that you have to rest-pause out the last several repetitions then it is going to be very taxing.

Yea wasn't there a big debate here a while ago as to whether he took steroids or not? Looks like he is selling an ebook for like 70 bucks that has info you can get from sites like this for free anyways.

Agreed Doing them two times a week might work but three times a week would be brutal.

I dunno according to some people, 20 rep squats are the greatest mass builder of all. I like doing one set of them on leg day. It's a great way to finish quad work cause you should be pretty much dead after a set of them, rest pausing and such.

OT i know, but when you talk about rest pause, is it ok to do this? I've noticed i've started to do it on squats abit now, so i pump out say 6 reps then i rest pause and hit up 2 more, then 2 more. on squats i live and die by getting our those 10 reps and do what i must to finish it of, these rest pauses aren't bad are they? Just got my squats up to 10 on 110kg (yeah i'm only a small guy) but i only pump out 6 then rest pause to get the next 2,2 out.

There's nothing wrong with it, but doing it all the time and eeking out 5-10 repetitions past failure (As is the case with 20 rep squats) 3 times each week would be pretty harsh on the nervous system.
