I fill my dasani bottle up twice while at the gym so its roughly 1 liter or 40oz(!to freedom!), but usually never more.

None. I was tricked in believe that drinking water played a big roll in muscle development. Your better off drinking gatorade, powerade, or even a soda.

Glucose in any form a half an hour before exercise, to preserve glycogen stores. I'm assuming this is why you say you're better off drinking sports drinks. But wouldn't it stand to reason that as long as you don't overdo it on the volume that such drinks wouldn't be as necessary??

Sigh...anyone who suggests that water isn't good enough for a workout..should honestly not be giving advice to people about training.

I usually bang down about 8oz of water mixed with BCAAs for the first 20min. and then after that I hit up another 8-10oz of water through the rest of the workout.

Are you kidding me? That's like saying that because OIL doesnt' make an engine produce motion, it's unnecessary or doesn't help.

Sport Drinks are NOT better than water, especially half of the ones on the market that suck ass. And if you think that the nutrition of gatorade is producing the gains in muscle, I'd suggest your theory is flawed.

I just think that when trying to gain weight, a sports drink with a shit load of carbs is better than water. I use to be a water whore, but then I started to feel very fatigued and tired all the time. Carbs=Energy
