I wing it most of the time
watching the clock during your rest periods makes the time seem slower and makes you feel more energized and ready for the next set

Watching the clock makes rest time go by so slow to me as well Exiled. I agree with the whole post. I tend to flex the working muscle (group) while waiting so I"m not just sitting there stairing at the clock though. In fact I don't sit down I pace around.
I also do both of these. I find that when I flex whatever muscles I'm working out in between sets I'm more pumped when I have to start again. Same thing with sitting down, if I just sit and look at the clock I feel that I lose most of my strength and motivation for continuing the workout.
flexing keeps the blood in the muscle and keeps it warm which is why you feel more pumped. it's because you're constantly pumping blood into the muscle before, during and after each set. As for sitting, it is just counter productive especially on leg day both mentally as you stated as well as physically. Walking, stretching and flexing the leg muscles on leg day is a major "must do".
As for the clock, that is a personnal thing no right answer to that point. Time flies or it goes by slowly. No matter what, that minute and a half still goes by in 90 seconds for both groups of people.
I always flex inbetween sets of clean and jerks

Funk if you don't do it with other muscle groups give it a try. I'll bet you'll appreciate it. For chest example, after a set of whatever you do, do a good solid squeeze of the pecs and hold it for a moment or two. do that about 3 or 4 times alternating with stretches. (pulling arms back behind you as best you can. Don't overdo this since it isn't necessary meaning have someone assist you by trying to touch your hands together. you don't have to be that drastic) just a natural stretch followed by the flexation.
I don't train chest.

I've only been doing it for my chest and bi's. Never actually tried it with any others before.
I also stretch and pace, I just find that if I lose mindfullness of the clock, then the end of the rest period sneaks up on me. Watching the clock keeps the anticipation of the coming set alive, making you think about doing it and making you more prepared about what you can expect from yourself.
Zoo/EX good posts guys but I'm done here. I don't like some of the attitudes on this board. So best to just leave. Take it light and good luck to you guys. Can't say it's all been a pleasure because it hasn't but some of you are cood peeps and I wish you the best.
