I realize muscle strength gains fade off...but look what would happen if you added just 25lbs. a year. Like I said, just something to look at whether it's reasonable or not.
When I was 16 I could do 275lbs. for 6-7 reps. That was just before turning 17 too... You just turned 16 and bench 295lbs!I imagine you must train for strength more than for size.
Here, lets do just 15lbs a year. VERY reasonable goal...
16 - 300lbs
17 - 315lbs
18 - 330lbs
19 - 345lbs
20 - 360lbs

Again, just something to look at... An average of just 15lbs a year will put you at an amazing bench press! I'm not sure I'd even want to bench that much...

dips destroy my shoulders!
I mean................I dont workout!
I dont do dips, but do do (i said do do) weighted chins...
Wish I had started all this at 16 instead of 30! oh man...
I'm 34 - when am I officially an old fart?
I have also stopped doing dips because they hurt my shoulders.

I just did an easy 4 sets of 6 with a 75lb dumbbell between my feet at 195. No idea what I can do with my bodyweight; I imagine 30 or so.

The most I've done at one time was 20 something, at around 185.
I don't know how much I can do with just my bodyweight, but I did 3 sets of 5 with 130 lbs last week after benching.

Damn... all you people do so many dips. I (fresh) only got around 17 out at 180 pounds. And at my gym that's a way high amount, most people struggle doing 10. What's your guys definition of a dip? because i mean i'm pretty well built these days, and i'd say there's only 3 guys at my gym that can do more than me, and they're all competition size.
Don't use my numbers as a comparison. I was being sarcastic. 14-15@BW is my max at 170 lbs on a good day.
kinda like this(below) the chain is just around the db handle.
