How fast can you run a mile?

I wanted to start one of these threads...
May the Lord Jesus Christ bless those who bless me as I gladly accept their blessings, and curse those who curse me all the while protecting me for any evils. In Christ name, amen...

I don't even know what a good mile time is... I know the elite runners are around the 4 minute mark.

If I'm on a track right now I can do a mile in about 5:30 but I'm puking by the end of it. I can sustain under 7 mins a mile for 6.2 miles (10k).
Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

When I was fatter and less active at about 13-14, I did an 8 minute mile. I imagine I can top that by at least a minute or two right now, maybe more.

I currently pace myself at 9-10 minute miles. I'm certainly out of practice however... I'd like to get down to 7 minutes or less. Long way to go...but hopefully I'll get there.

Do you guys/gals like to run outside or on a treadmill? I find it's more enjoyable and easier running outside... However, I do my running on a treadmill.
