Double D,
Apparently you're not as old and cranky as Mike and I are.

Na not really. I rarely notice things around me whenever I am in the gym. However I havent gotten to be in a gym for sometime. I have been working out at home for the past 2 years. But I was at a powerhouse a few years back and it never really bothered me. However I dont like whenever people wanna work in. I hate when I am on a time scheledule and they are taking their time to get through the set I let them in on.

Another rant: Idiot trainers that think their new client is more important than you. Women trainers are the worst (friggin man haters). Last week I was doing weighted pull ups with a 50lb db (3 sets). After my first set I sat down on my db between sets (45 sec). This girl trainer walks up with a girl client and says "Excuse me we need to get in here." She then squeezes by me with her client (I had to move out of the pull up station/take my db). She then has her client do (body weight) calf raises on the frame of the pull up station (3"). First leg 30 slow reps ("pause at the bottom/squeeze at the top"). Next leg 30 slow reps. Do you have any idea how long this took? At my pull up station! AND, they were both ugly! WTF!
That's just ignorant of the trainer. You can do calf raises pretty much on any raised surface. Of course if they were both hot I'm sure you wouldn't have minded as much

Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

It screws up concentration having you fumble and bank my rack when I'm lifting, plus what if i want to use / pyramid the plates you took?

Yeah, that's the real gym etiquette. The newbs get trashed, just like in high school and college. Survival of the fittest, know your place in the food chain, bottomfeeder, hierarchy of power, you know. Haze the noobs! Put em in big plastic bags, beat em, make em do windowmakers, slap em, crack em, make them lick your grannie's feet!

On your knees for power!

Because... eh well... because!

I don't care if someone takes a plate, and I don't care if it is in the middle of a set, I got too much shit going on to worry about what others are doing.

I s'pose the fact that my gym has a shitload of plates at every station probably influences my decision, though.

If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Are we sure he isn't laying next to a storage rack or something?

true story.

i was once working out with Dale and in the middle of his set of squats I started to take a 45lb plate off the bar. He didn't even stop squatting. he just kept on going like everything was normal!

I always do squats that way, an evenly distributed bar is so 2005.

I have to say, if the worst thing anyone did in the gym was take a plate off the station I'm at while I am between sets, I'd be a happy man. All I ask is wipe down the bench, rack your wieght, and make sure to stay clear of anyone in the middle of a lift. Is that so much to ask?
