I got this out of Camaro's journal. hope this helps some. Just got to do some searching. I never do it so i dont really know.

"Extreme stretching is simply fascia stretching after each set or workout.

They are usually between 45 seconds and 2 minutes in length, and fairly, if not EXTREMELY painful.

DC's training has one do a fascia stretch after each set... for example, after my chest set, I would grab two 110lb dumbells and slowly bring them down as if doing a chest press and hold them in the most negative position I could for 45 seconds to 2 minutes.

Each bodypart has one or two (or more) stretches you can incorporate after each bodypart."

What are your goals here Richie? If you want extreme stretching attend a Yoga class. If your wanting to build muscle safely, hold a stretch for each muscle group for 20 seconds before and after the exercise.

I do extreme fascia stretching.... after each set.

Your basic goal is to induce a heavy stretch in a safe position for each bodypart.

I use the more "extreme" stretching on one of my female clients before working each muscle group. She really enjoys it and we have not had any injuries thusfar. It also helps prevent delayed onset muscle soreness which is great for a full time working mother.

I, however, just use the standard stretching before each workout - I believe I described this in a previous post. My workouts are usually rushed because i'm on clock so I don't have time to experiment with new stretching methods.

I've been training for around 9 mos. Got certified about 6 mos ago. I live in a smaller town (as you probably know) so I have a somewhat limited clientel LOL. I only hold around 5 clients at a time, and I consider myself fortunate to have that many. When I finish my associates degree locally, i'll move on to a bigger city with a University where personal training should become much more financially beneficial

Cool man, good luck with that all. Do you still compete in powerlifting at all?

No. No. I tried training for a competition last year, but too many injuries got in the way. Just wasn't worth it. I'm now getting ready to step on stage for the first time as a bodybuilder - weighing around 170 (47 pds. more than my competition weight HAHA).

Good stuff. Good luck with that. I'm sure you'll do well. You tore up the powerlifting scene!

Thanks buddy, I appreciate the encouragement!

Injuries aside, I would say bodybuilding is a much tougher sport than powerlifting. EVERYTHING has to be spot on - not just your lifts. It's very difficult, especially for a hardgainer.
