    GPP work

    My new workout goes like

    Push/Pull/Gpp/Lower/Upper/Gpp/off

I was just wondering if doing the GPP work on off-lifting days is setting me back from growth, and how much?

GPP work consists of light bodyweight movements, skip rope, >10 min hit cardio, etc. 25-30 minutes.

I figure the GPP work keeps my condition up which gives me more gas to lift longer and heavier for weight lifting. But since it is on my recovery days, is it cutting into my recovery time, thus growth?

IMHO, no it's not setting you back...no more than somebody playing full court basketball a half an hour on off days.

You do need time to recover so you dont over exert your muscles...make sure also getting the proper fuel to because that can stop growth also...

    What does GPP stand for?
    No Milk, no.
Milk is for babies. When you grow up, you have to drink beer.

I do something like that jon. My schedule is as follows:

    Total body
    GPP
    Total body
    GPP
    Total body
    Active recovery
    Off

It has worked quite well for me these past few months. You're still young too, you can probably take it. It hasn't hindered my strength gains in the least bit from what I can tell. For the most part I've been smashing personal records all over the place.

wicked!!! I'm always just chillin, no heavy work or nothing so I'm recovering well. Eating just enough to grow slowly with no BF. Slow clean clean bulk. I'm in no rush to grow, i don't want to be bigger than 180lbs >10% bf.

Pimp, what's active recovery? And what does your typical GPP day look like?

You can look in my journal to see what a GPP day looks like. It's generally a circuit comprised of bodyweight/medicine ball power exercises, various bodyweight movements, jump roping, etc. Much like what you mentioned.

Active recovery is structured physical activity that is of low to moderate intensity, generally in the form of aerobic exercise. It is just something that gets you up and moving, the blood flowing, your heart pumping, but stress on the body is minimal. I will usually just do a light jog for 25-30 minutes.
