    Comparing Others to You............

i normally would have said it bad thing to do but i have been rethinking my position...........i always heard to not compare what someone looks like or how much they are lifting to you and what you're doing but i think it can be a good motivational tool. i remember how bad i felt when i was talking to this female trainer and she told me she could bench two plates. i was only at 190. so i stayed on it until i got to two plates. after that i saw a guy who was benching 300 so that became my new goal. then a classmate told me he was doing 350.....and so on. i guess the key to keeping with the weights is your motivation for lifting......my motivation is trying to become as strong as the next guy on the strength ladder..........

I tend to just look for continued improvement and keep an eye on form - as long as I dont level out for too long I dont worry
I'm 34 - when am I officially an old fart?
