You could place a towel over your delts. Helps a bit.
I can't do front squats, but I think it will be the same as with back squats.
You know how with back squats there is some initial pain in the traps from the weight? I have the same pain in my front delts when doing front squats. Will the pain go away as I progress or should I just forget about it and suck it up?

I seem to notice it's different for some people, their exact grip....I for one am only flexible enough to grip the bar just outide my shoulders....whereas I've seen some hold it further out.

It can hurt and bruise at first, but keep at it and you'll be fine. If it continues for more than a few sessions, you're probably doing something wrong.
