    Question What IS Your Goal??

    This training, dieting. The pain, sacrifice, suffering, dementia - what are you hoping to accomplish with your weight training?

    What will be the realization when, and if, you "get there"?

    What drives you?

    I have been interested ever since I was 4 or 6 because I have always had a gym and my dad lifts and he is huge. It just motivates me to pass him one day hopefully and be stronger. I also can not stand the fact of being fat or a skinny toothpick with no muscle.

    I like challenges.

    Weight lifting has been as much a mental challenge as it has been a physical challenge, and thats something i want to be a part of in some way for the rest of my life.

    I want to learn as much as i can about the sport of weightlifting and the science involved, and to continually improve my own lifts/body ad infinitum.

    Basically "be better". :P

    I've got a strange urge to hump Funk's back... but that's beside the point.

    What was it? The 1980, or '84 Summer Olympics. I was about 18 when witnessing. The men's team in gymnastics. The rings and pommel horse - power movements. These relatively small guys exploded in muscularity and nearly perfect physical proportion. Nothing God has to offer can exceed that kind of beauty.

    Of course, I'll never look like that. But, my dad was an artist. I'm a working class Joe with definable artistic talents. I want to experience the feeling of being "that alive" and finish my life presenting interpretation. The "disipline" can only enhance my 'conviction'.

    It took 45 years to realize this.

    My main goal when i started weight training awhile back was to just become as fit as i can be, and to gain as much size and strength as my body would allow. Im getting there, I have gotten the size and strength that I am happy with, now my goal is to lean out a bit more.
