15 years in working out, everything is good but chest, geeze??

I am a weightlifting trainer with a problem. It seems that no matter what i do, i can't seem to build up my chest. I can build huge legs arms, shoulders, you name it. I dont juice and never have. I finally decided to ask someone out here on the net and what a better way then a chat forum. I train chest with mostly upper chest exercises. Using the smith to get the best form. Flys and flat bench, have tried free weight dumbells, pushups. machine flys. Anything that you could think of. My question is: Did anyone ever have a problem like this and found a solution to there problem? Newbie im not. Im starting to think thats just the hard break that im going to have to live with when it comes to my body. Any ideas ill take in a heart beat. Will i personally build better with light weight, maybe to hit the muscles better then heavy weight, higher reps?? Let me know, and yeah i can send in a pic, tomorrow if u want to see the problem that i have with my chest but i really dont think that is going to help.

That could well be the problem.

I`m betting you have kick ass front delt right?

Wait til TCD and gropro get ahold of this thread

Anyway, flat or decline will place more stress on the chest and less on the delts, and would be worth trying for a few months to see if you get some better results.

Hehe yeah there sort of large, thats why i dont need to do shoulder work on its own, between the heavy hard ass back workouts and the chest that never was workouts, hehe. Hmmm well i haven't tried to go back to the flat bench for some while now. Might be worth looking into. besides that i have a home gym in my house so any sugestions could be possible for me to do at least some of them. Push ups were my big hope at one time, however i was let down. I would easily be able to up my body weight to a good 245 lbs if i could start getting my chest to grow. Don't get me wrong, to measure it, it is 51" but lets not forget thats 85- 90% back err lats. I have finally taken the first step. " I have a chest problem" now i need help :P

I`d start with something worked around Dips, flat bench and flat fly`s...this should help to take the stress off your shoulders, though you may find them getting smaller

If he's pressing heavy for chest, his shoulders shouldn't lose any size.

How many sets do you do?

And b-jesus, son, for a 15 year old you are large! Is your bodyfat high?

LOL, first of all im not 15, i have been working out for 15 years, age is 31. I tried everything from 1 rep, to 15 reps, 3-7 sets. and heavy to light weight. Trust me i have tried it all. Staying away from the flat bench or flys, might have ended up causing my problems. This is an interesting way of attacking the problem. Got any more ideas, fire away.

Ah, well maybe that's your problem

Drop down to 2 sets an exercise.

And drop down to about 3 exercises.

Mix reps. for example, first set go heavy with low reps (4-6.) Second set go lighter for higher reps (10-12.)

Or cycle reps. Gopro will give ya some schpiel on that.

Try Flys before your bench press. It sends your blood rushing to your chest helping build it.

    ****how 'bout implants?

Try going abck to teh flat bench. All varieties. (bar bell, dumbell)
I do not think I saw anything about you doing declines? Maybe try those out as well?
