Is This Normal?

Hey guys, a while ago I tried my max (bench press) and around a month later I was lifting a little bit more on my regular bench presses on my chest days, but when tried my max again it was still the same.
So is it normal to be able to lift more on your regular presses but still have the same max?

it is possible....

could be you are psyching yourself out.

could be that you are training at an intensity that is far away from your 1RM and your limit strength has not improved, etc...

could happen for a few reasons.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that your reps are in the 6 and above range...if I'm wrong tell me .

In addition to prioritizing HEAVY BB ROWS (trust me)
Try this :
do 10 sets of 3 reps @ 85-90% of your 1RM, it will feel easy until the last couple sets and even then shouldn't be too difficult.Take two days off and then attempt to increase you 1RM by 5-10 pounds.SUPRISE!! Calculate new 85-90%1RM , rinse and repeat, this will work for several weeks as long as rest and nutrition are sufficient.

Sounds good, I'll give it a shot next week. I'll try my max this week, just to see. And yes, you're right my reps range is 6 and up.
