    Weak ankles???

Ages ago I twisted my left ankle really badly.....now every so often it gives way!!!! I had the same problem with one of my wrists that had been damaged (soft tissue) in a car accident..did certain exercises and havent had any problems with it since!!

Are there any exercises to regain strength in the ankle department???? If so....please help me out...Im sick of it giving way so often.....it seems to be increasing.

There's not really a whole lot to do for the ankle strength-wise besides dorsiflexion and plantarflexion (calf raises and toe raises).

If you're still having problems with it I wouldn't recommend any ballistic-type of movement or lateral exercises-- those could come later.

I agree with Snake Eyes, I hurt my ankle in a skiing accident when I was young and every now and then it still bothers me.
