Everytime I curse in my class my teacher makes me do 10 pushups so it made me think. If I do intervals of 10 pushups like 10 times throughout the day for fun will it have any effect on me?? I don't want to overtrain. Example, IF I could bench 150 for 8 reps normally when I lift but say I like to fuck around and throughout the day do like 80 x 10 does that have any effect?

it will have the effect that you will get better at going push ups and increase you upper body endurance and the ability to do push ups.

look at guys in the army that do tons of push ups every day all through boot camp.....none of them are 500lb benchers.

maybe. I don't know how many you are doing every day.

I mean, it is a BW exercise and it is more like endurance. Could you overtrain from walking? Sure....go try and walk 18 miles and tell me how you feel at the end.

You can overtrain from doing anything to much.

okay, well, you will quickly adapt to it, and it will no longer become fatiguing.

So from doing like 50-100 in sets of 10 throughout 1 83 minute class won't affect my normal lifting?

If you're worried about the push-ups having a negative impact on your benching, why don't you just keep your mouth shut during class?

If I was your teacher I'd just put my foot up your ass.

The pushup sets and reps aren't gonna help you... unless the teacher starts sitting on your back while you do them...

... then you'll really look smart!

why would you want to get into trouble? Just design something around pushups.

The purpouse of the push ups is to teach you a lesson not to do something as a punishment. Apparently you refuse to learn the lesson. If you did, you would stop cursing and stop doing pushups.

If you are doing 10 reps every hour or so they arent goin to do shit for ya.....and ultimately they probably are not going to hurt or help ya..nor are they goin to effect ya. Atleast not enough to tell.
