Have you ever kipped?

What would be any advantage of kipping (using momentum and not working the muscle that should be involved in a pullup.)

It is harder than you think. Just try it and then you will know.

Depends entirely on your training goals. Kipping is good for MMA athletes, not so hot for a bodybuilder or a weekend warrior

Accept the necessity to take a step back in order to take two steps forward.

Every one I've seen is just full of things I disagree with and lots of body english. I believe building strength in the prime movers is paramount regardless of what you are training for......

they definitely do have their place. I train for MMA and thus they show their effectiveness.

also, even for BB or any athlete for that matter, they shouldn't be used or even needed for- let's say a set of 10- but as for the 75 I performed yesterday they are certainly needed.

it seems like in very crossfit video, they try to impress people, to try and have them say "wow, they work hard" but imo the stuff they do is stupid and high risk.

The world deadlift record for one finger is in the 600s I believe. Plus you have guys picking up 400 pounds with their penis, its all possible.

Oh yea! All you have to do is read the Milo Strength Training Journal. They document all those odd lifting events. They are always held in someone shed in like Kansas or some middle of no where hick town. The lifts that those dudes do are amazing!
