Qestion about rest day 'activities'.

BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS

Hey all. I have a quick question about whether or not certain non-lifting activies are OK on my rest days.

1. Walking: Lift day or not, It's about a 1.8 mile each way trip to work, and I don't drive. I usually extend the walk so it's a clean 3 miles each way. So is 6 miles of slow paced, casual walking hindering my rest day?

2. Dancing: I have one totally off day on the weekend, however sometimes I will go out with friends and dance, or to a concert etc... I would guess it to be the equivillant of mild paced cardio.

3. Sex: Got a gal that we are at that point with each other that it's great and we want it all the time. Generally 20-40 minutes 'high intensity'

So I usually wind up partaking in at least one of the above mentioned activities even on my off days. The walking is gauranteed every day of the week. Sex is gauranteed on the weekend, and sometimes during the week. Dancing is more the wild card, but often enough to bring up.

My routine is:

Mon AM: Pull (curls, rows, chin ups etc). High intensity.
Mon PM: Cardio 30-60 minutes. Medium to high intensity.

Tues AM: Push ( bench. shoulder press, tricep extension etc). High intensity.
Tues PM: Cardio 30-60 minutes. Medium to high intensity.

Wed AM: OFF
Wed PM: Cardio 30-60 minutes. Medium to high intensity.

Thur AM: Pull. High intensity.
Thur PM: Cardio 30-60 minutes. Medium to high intensity.

Fri AM: Push. High intensity.
Fri PM: OFF

Sat AM: Legs or Cardio ( I don't do legs every week, usually rotate with the cardio bi weekly)
Sat PM: OFF

Sun AM: OFF
Sun PM: OFF

And if it matters I am:

28
5'11
168-175
10.5-11.5% BF

Any input or help is appreciatated!

That's a lot of walking which I would personally find tiring but...

go dancing! you gotta have fun and as for sex, get as much as you can. you don't wanna look back when you're 50 and think 'why didn't as i get as much i could when i could'

I love it when a plan comes together.

Well it's a bit hard wired in me now. I was a 300lb fatty 1 year ago. Walking 10 miles a day was the primary thing that got me skinny. Of course, now I don't want to be skinny, I want to be big the right way.

So the walking doesn't bother me one bit, I'm quite use to it.

Thanks for the input bro!

If walking to work, going out and dancing, or having sex with your woman are hindering your recovery, then you should scale back your workouts before you scale back those items. They probably shouldn't interfere unless you are pushing yourself within an ounce of your ability to recover during your structured workouts.

Remember, If you are having sex, like me, on your days off... alternate the use of hands.

No it never seems like they hinder recovery, but I just wanted to make sure. I'm getting results, and feel great. Though I will take your advice about scaling back gym time before the extra curricular work .

Contrary to popular believe, sex doesn't burn a lot of calories.

I play ball on my off-days

However, it is awful before or after leg day.
