Burn doesn't mean shit. If you're using proper form, you're targetting your chest. Period. Judge by process, not by 'the burn'.

You would have to be doing something really fucked up to not be targeting your chest when your benching.

is your grip too narrow or are your elbows in close to your body? Both of these will engage your tris more.

Switch to dumb bells and do them with a palms in grip. Early on I found that my hand position on the straight bar caused me to work my delts and triceps more than my chest. By switching to DB's I was able to turn my palms in and better isolate my pecs. Also, before you start your set, you need to bring your shoulder blades down and in to take your delts out of the movement and better isolate your pecs. Think of pinching a pencil between your shoulder blades. It's gonna feel strange at first, but once you get used to it you'll notice a dramatic difference.

a while back i had a problem with my bench because not knowing when i lifted upwards i would end up pushing the bar backwards at the same time, this completely took the weight off my chest and put alot on my shoulders and tris.
