Sex and Training?

The common perception is that releasing "the load" decreases hormonal levels, therefore drive, or hunger. This may have elvolved from a perception that being "horny" keeps you on edge. That may be true enough in light of the fact there's probably no physiological support. Thoughts? |

Here is my 2 Canadian cents on the matter...
Getting laid makes you feel better. Getting laid is cardio (assuming you know what youre doing and have small amount of talent). Getting laid is as natural as eating. Getting laid makes you feel better (yup, worth repeating) Getting laid is good for you. I have a steady girlfriend, and get laid regularly. Prior to her I didn't have much action for the better part of a year (save for the 'blind squirrel finds a nut' nights). Now that I am released regularly, I notice no difference in my workouts. If anything else, I have someone else to think of for my efforts .Train hard, lay hard, sleep well How's that new hip shaping up Private Pile? ![]() |

There's been a topic about this quite recently in sexual health, I believe. It explains why sex post or pre workout hampers your recovery abilities. Not just sex in general.

Stallone supposedly didnt have sex throughout his training for his new movie.
Biologically, I dont know, but I do know that I am more aggressive and more confident when I dont jerk off or get laid for a while. May be a psychological edge? |

Training has no bearing, and never will, on the way I train. I am not altering my sex life for peak performance, though it would be interesting to know what effects it might have.

i have read that having sex releases higher levles of testostrone + depending on the position can give you a good ab work out.
Why not ask our G/F's, Wives or Hands to try an experiment. Ask them to have sex for a week or so before each workout and then see how you feel after the session (to make them feel better tell them that its for scientific testing and that they are helping solve an age old mystery) I think it a bloody good idea |

If I have sex or jerk it before lifting my workouts are complete shit. I swear my bench goes down like 30-40lbs. This is why I lift while my g/f is at work or school and then fuck her brains out afterward.
