Yup, mike is dead on as usual.
Rest untill you are better, or you will be taking one step forward and three steps back every time you workout. |

im not sure how to tell how i am better though , cuz when i "thought" my cough was gone i went to train 5-9 of 2 hour classes of jiu jitsu, The cough came back in the 2nd hour of training. It was weird i didnt cough all day than i started to cough hard.
So i guesssi have to have like 2-4 days of non coughing eh? |

Listen to your body. I generally don't workout sick, I wait till I feel 100%. I just inadvertantly took a week off because of some sort of flu thing. If you have had a cold for three weeks, well damn, that is a long time. I'd probably throw a workout or two in the mix to maintain LBM. It all depends how you feel. I've worked out while sick, but I knew I was able too. So yeah, listen to your body.

It is unusual to have a cold for that long. I have asthma and am a Respiratory Therapist. Everytime I get a cold it goes to my lungs and my asthma flares up greatly lengthening the time a 'cold' will bother me. The primary symptom with asthma is cough, wheezing, shortness of breath. The stuff I cough up when it is only my asthma flared up is clear thick stuff. If you are coughing up yellow, green stuff it is probably infected or the infection is still clearing up. My asthma is considered mild as I only have problems usually after a cold. I would followup with your doctor or see a pulmonologist who is a doctor specializing in figuring this type of thing out.

Hmmmm... that really is a hard question to answer. Some say wait until you are 100%, but I disagree with that. There are countless days during the year when I am not at 100% for whatever reason (got a cough, got a sunburn, hungover from too much booze the night before) yet I exercise. When I'm really bad off then I don't exercise at all, but if you feel strong enough to lift weights and/or do cardio then I'd say go for it!
