my goals

now i am not too sure if this is the right way i should go about developing a plan or what is an appropriate size so here goes
My body dimensions now are:

Left Right
Arm: 34cm, 13 1/4" 36cm, 14"
Forearm: 30cm, 11 1/2" 31cm, 12"
Leg: 58cm, 22 1/2" 60cm, 23 1/2"
Calves: 40cm, 15 1/2" 40cm, 15 1/2"
Chest: 103cm, 40 1/2"

Right now i weigh about 74.5KG or 164 pounds, i have never had the body pinch thing done but i am about 18-20% BF

My Goals:
Left Right
Arm: 44cm, 17" 44cm, 17"
Forearm: 33cm, 13" 33cm, 13"
Legs: 66cm, 26" 66cm, 26"
Calves: 45cm, 17 1/2" 45cm, 17 1/2"
Chest: 113cm, 44 1/2"

I dont care how much i weigh after but i want my BF% about 7%

I am aiming to do this by the end of July 2007

I want to know is this to ambitious and are the sizes that i want to be a good size or would it be out of proportion.

Any feedback would be good.

thankyou.

Good luck on your goals, hoping to hear of progress down the road.

Your goals seem very ambitious, you want to loose around 10% bodyfat while at the same time add 3 inches onto your arms. Its possible im sure, it will take a lot of hard work and commitment though, but id be very interested to hear your progress and I wish you good luck trying to achieve it

do you think i should re-think and make smaller goals to start with, like smaller sizes or just start with monthly goals, (you see i dont know what poor, average or good rate of growth is). How do you guys go about setting goals?

What are big arms, legs, or chest?. What are some of you guys sizes?

To gain 3 inches on your arms generally you need to gain about 30 pounds. That's a lot of weight in 6 months. Focus more on things like your chest, back and legs and just lift and eat eat eat and you will be fine.

How old are you?

Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

i am 22

So I should gain size before i try to loose BF%. got it

Although i am going to focus on my chest, back and legs, do you suggest more focus because of the proportion to my arms, cause iv seen some guys at my gym and they have huge arms and the rest is proportionaly small (and quite frankly look like gorrilas).

you see, i know what i want to look like, i just dont know what size it is.
and people are always saying you need to have goals otherwise u will never get any where.

is it important to have goals like the ones i have set. or can i get away with somthing less specific.

Like a couple of others have said, those are ambitious goals. You are correct though, it is good to set goals and track progress. Generally, when people want to grow bigger, I usually see them setting weight goals (ie "I want to gain 5 lbs this month," or whatever - depends on the person as to what goal would be reasonable for them) and letting the measurements follow - obviously if you gain weight then some parts of your body had to have grown.

If you worked out hard and didn't drastically overeat, then a good portion of that gain will be in muscle. Likewise, if you work out your whole body, then the gains should be spread around your whole body. Realistically, you'll find that some parts will grow faster than others, due to both your training and your genetics.

But as long as you have a good, balanced training program, with lots of compound lifts that engage multiple muscle groups, I don't think you don't need to worry about having gorilla biceps or other serious imbalances; those guys probably strictly train upper body (not rare to see guys like that at public gyms). Plus gorilla biceps don't grow overnight, and if you find yourself getting away from the proportions that you desire, you can modify your training to give lagging bodyparts more attention.

Okay, slight digression/question here: what do you guys do when you have "lagging" body parts? Do you rest the lagging bodypart in the hopes that it will grow more, or work it more in the hopes of stimulating growth? I have never really obsessed about exact, perfect proportions since I don't compete, and I feel like for me personally, using a balanced workout pretty much lets the proportions take care of themselves, so I don't have much experience in "bringing up lagging bodyparts."

Anyway, you'll want to take regular measurements to track this (no need to do it more than once a month though.) If you're wanting to know what "well-proportioned" looks like, there's some information about "the Greek ideal" on this web page, and there's also information about taking measurements properly.

Best of luck!

Hey thanks for the advice.
I went to that site and i put in some of my dimensions and it gave me some sizes for different parts of my body.

the dimentions are smaller than what i initially planned but after considering what all people have said about how ambitios the goals are i have decided to re-evaluate them.

Arms = 16"
Calves = 16"
Thigh = 25"
Chest = 47"
Neck = 16"

And then if i decide after i have done this i want bigger something i can.

thanks once again , I will keep you posted on my progress.
