Functional Lifting = Life

In order to see more muscle mass, you must decrease your BF%. There are three ways to do this: add muscle, subtract weight, or both. For beginners, it's possible to do both. For most intermediate/advanced lifters, it's nearly impossible (without drugs).
So, if you like the size of your muscles now, cut; if you want them to be bigger, bulk; if you want them to be both bigger and more visible, bulk and then worry about whether you can see them later. If you need to cut fat off at a later time, you always can. That's just my opinion though. |

The key is always to determine your exact calorie intake for both gaining mass and not gaining too much fat.
You may find some helpful ideas at Diet & Nutrition forums. |
