Depends on a lot of stuff, but the average is 3 days per week I think.
just a quick one whats the minimum amount of days a week u need to be in the gym to see growth in the muscle and a gain in mass?
When you play for Celtic forget the Jersey forget the club, your playing for a people and a cause.

I'll say 2. You could even get away with 1 if you eat really well and make that 1 workout seriously intense.
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)
if he did 2 a week how different would his workout be from say if he did 4 days a week?
would he do more per muscle group in the 2 days then the 4 four or keep it the same just more muscle groups worked each day ?

2 days with high volume ....but if he has time 3-4 will be better for him ....

but not more than 4
so at the min 2 but with more intensity and sets ?

yes ..but not 40 sets ...just for example 18 sets per workout including isolation and all stuff..

18 set x less than one minute each = 18 minutes maximum + 2min estimated maximum rest time interval between each set =36 minutes
36+18=54 minutes maximum

if you rest 30 seconds between each set and 2 minutes between each exercise you get less than 40 minutes for your total workout
if your already asking how LITTLE time you can spend.. your asking on the wrong foot.... but 4-5 days a week to get big. 2-3 days to maintain.

the goal is to progress on a constant basis. go buy Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength for Beginners and Practical Prgramming for Strength Athletes
u will not regret spending the $$$ on these 2 books.
