DB Shrugs
BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com I tried searching for previous posts containing this, but had no luck finding anything.
My question is how safe is it, to take dumbells for shrugs, but instead of shruging both at the same time, doing one side at a time? The reason I ask is because I watched a fellow gym member do these yesterday and was considering giving them a try tonight with lighter weight: He took a pair of heavy dumbells and would shrug one side of his shoulder, he would lower his shoulder fairly low and then pull it very high up, much higher than one could doing this the standard way.....for about 12 reps, then do the other side....he would always hold both dumbells though, I guess to help with balance. He did have very impressive traps (not saying this is why, just thought I would note it.) Has anyone tried this or have seen it? I'm wondering how safe this would be on the shoulder girdle? |

of all the exercises to do unilateral training with, this one just seems so stupid and pointless. Why waste the time?

No need for trap isolation work unless you're a football player or something. Do it that way or the standard way, it doesn't matter I think. Mix it up.

no need for upper trap isolation. Mid and lower traps....absolutley! Remeber, the trapezius has three differt parts that do three differnent things. The mid and lower get neglected.
