    Cross Fit Training

    Has anyone here tried it?

I just got into it and I'm HOOKED!

This sort of intensity is just the extreme I've been searching for!

    And it's so amazingly simple.

I'm curious, has anyone else tried it and, if so, care to share your results?

    they are tough workouts!

I can see them being beneficial for some people or some populations. They are great for really raising work capacity.

The only negative thing I have to say about the cross-fit folks are the lack of technique that happens when deep fatigue sets in.....in the videos I have seen, they seem to think, "oh well, just keep going". I think that you have to be mindful of that in your training. Also, the use of technical lifts like cleans and snatches, being trained for very high reps and with very "loose" technique. Risk > Reward with that and I can't see the benefit of doing something like an explosive lift for a high amount of reps to failure.

I like the idea of it.

Very similar to tabata and HIIT training - just marketed better with a yuppy name that doesn't sound like some type of disease or nerdy programming language.

Like P says just be wary of poor technique when nearing failure and injury.

    All good points.

What has me so stoked about it is it is something I could realistically apply to my upcoming Iraq mission.

One of the challenges we often face is limited time and facilities. This sort of explosive and fast paced workout would fit our needs perfectly.
