Same goes for old blacksmith's. Look how big their arms and shoulders were!!
Ok here's something I've wondered about for a while.
Back in 93 I went into industrial construction as a green hand. As a newbie there I was put on the cable pulling crew. Basically we sat in a cable tray and rowed/pulled cable. Some of the cables were about 4-5" in diameter and had metal clading (heavy).
I would put as much distance between me and the guy in front of me as I could stand (straining nicely). I did this for a month 5 days a week. Then after work I'd hit the gym (4 days a week).
Well, instead of overtraining my back and arms like I thought it would I got bigger and way stronger. It was to the point that some of my friends at the gym thought I was juicing.
Now. Why didn't I end up overtraining my back and biceps??![]()

Exactly. Is there a point where your body stops overtraining and adapts??

Don't know, but I think there is a good argument there!!

One thing I did notice was that you only did it for 1 Month right?

GOPRO????? W8LIFTER??? ANYONE ????
Thoughts are more powerful then Matter
I think that's exactly right. It was for a short period and the body can usually handle such stresses for a shorter period. Also, Fade, you could be one of the rare individuals who grow under such high volume/stress. DP, for example. Maybe you shoudl try high volume and see how it works for you. Worked for Arnold, and a coupla pros train the same bodypart in the AM heavy and in the PM light.
How old were you in 93??
Cool![]()

Your body does not overtrain, you overtrain your body!Originally posted by Fade99

I've always done a high volume routine. About three months ago I lowered the volume on it.Originally posted by Twin Peak
