Are you deadlifting naked?
it might just be me but i find that i can't get the full range of movement when doing deads as at the top of the movement the bar comes in contact with the top of my legs and starts draging across them well up to me ol mate an friends, and for fear of hurting him stop there, although i feel as if i have not finished the movement.
How do others deal with this.

na, not naked, although that would be different![]()
well what do you do? do you stop or drag over
like i explained before, when i get to the top and go to do the shrug/lean back, the bar gets caught under him and i have to stop there otherwise i would have to drag the bar over and that would hurt.

You have a 17 inch penis. Congratulations.
Sounds to me like you are trying to over-exaggerate the lockout.
Here's where you should be locked out in a deadlift: http://www.kettlebellinstructor.com/...20Top%20II.JPG
There's no need to hyperextend your back and shrug the weight up like some kindof crazy person.
^ yeah - it sounds like you're arching your back right over and part-shrugging for some reason. Have you ever had someone coach you on your form?

I love my trap bar for deads (and farmers walks & shrugs for that matter). No shin or other body part damage....
yeah, i do arch my back and shrug at the same time.
i thought this was proper form.
I saw a guy at my gym that is quite big and i see him there all the time and thought i would follow his form as i thought he would know his stuff.

yeah. i am starting to see that now.
there is so much to learn and trying to get the 'correct' info about training is quite hard.![]()
i have tried to do a search for a trap bar but the search comes back with about 3 different bars, can anyone post a link with the correct trap bar you should do deads with.

You don't need a trap bar. Its useful but certainly not a necessity. Just deadlift with proper form and you winkie will be fine.

i now no longer have to fear that i might bust a nut when doing deads.

are there any trade off's in using a trap bar vs a normal BB.
do you still hit all of the muscles with the same intensity

TB DL's maybe a little more quad dominant instead of lower back at the start of the movement. I dont think this is a bad trade off. No other difference that I know of.
BB or Trap Bar - either way DL's are good.
can anyone provide me with a link of the correct Trap bar that should be used if doing DL with a trap bar, my gym might have one but i dont know what it looks like.

Most trap bars are diamond shaped with arms extending out either side. You stand in the middle of the diamond. This avoids the bar contacting your shins or any other body part...Some trap bars are an open half diamond (or "V" shape) and some are hexigonal. There may be other types as well. If you google trap bar they should come straight up. Perfect for shrugs as your arms are at your sides, not in front or behind the body as with a BB.
yeah i did a search and a saw three different types of bars thats why i was confused, your explanation helped
Thanks
