Whats the best muscle to work for jumping?

I posted it because it takes me 25 seconds to cut and past from my journal , which I have bookmarked rather than retyping my routine. The point is you can't read and deduced that I said training calves alone would be a great vertical training program. Everyone had already listed quads, glute, and hamstring strengthening, and I added what was not previously listed.
There are probably 30 or more people on this site that can out lift me in every lift, and many of them are friends who I look up to for their training knowledge and their character. I don't care what you can lift, because, you are a moron with the reading comprehension of a 4th grader. Hence, I'm not impressed in the least.
Oh by the way, I'm done feeding the trolls for today, so post away, I'm sure everyone cares.

My LOOORD you guys forgot the BEESSST thing....
You than proceed to list various calf exercises. Ummmmmm... isn't that implying you think working calves work best for your vertical??
I never questioned that you worked legs too I only questioned the fact that your post is implying that working calves is the best exercise for your vertical. I wasn't just responding to your post in my original post either but EVERYONE that said things about vert. shoe gimmics as well. I very well could've called you out on your comment but I didn't b/c that's not what im about but you however responded to my post saying I didn't know what i was saying. Like I said though keep bebopping and working hard lifting that needle.![]()

Of course calves are important when it comes to your actual jump. I never questioned their importance there. I did say however and my main point was that training calves specifically isn't nearly as important as your lower body compounds/plyos. Vertical has to do with how much max force you can generate against the ground, isolating your calves in your training helps very little unless your already an acomplished athlete which the original poster at 15 isn't.

ok, lets agree to disagree. as long as we agree that no part of the leg should be neglected when trying to max your vertical.
you cant jump (high) without using all of your body, thus a trining program that incorporats each muscle group is important.
WHY?.....
Because life was'nt meant to be easy
