Its called periodzation. Using different reps, sets, ri's, tempo's.

I switch my routine up very often, but normally around a month or 2 I like to switch it up. The reps, sets, ri's, tempo's are switched weekly however.

what are ris and tempos? Is it basically you stick with a routine until gains slow down and then switch it up again?
