    Where my girls at???

Ok girls need your help. My wife gave birth to our daughter six months ago and joined the gym at the same time I did. She wants to concentrate on hips and butt like most women do.

Thinking within my routine, I know how to hit my hiney using squats and hammy curls and such. What excercises work well for women. I know both sexes are human and there by made up of the same muscle groups. Just looking for some advice so when we go tonight I can show her a few things.

I have to keep spirits high with her, she is at a delicate point where she may turn away from the gym totally. I lost 22lb already but I'm also 80+lb over weight when we started. So I'm going to lose faster, thats a given. I'm working with her on her diet, and getting it to be more like mine. Most importantly I'm making sure not to rub in my weight loss, Ic ome on here and do it.

    All help appreciated.
I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.

No difference on a cut between women and men. Try some variation and some fun stuff to keep the spirits up.

    Congrats btw and good luck.

I imagine she is trying to lose weight right? Well there is nothing that can be done that will focus weight loss on a certain area. You can't target fat loss to a certain area. Just lose weight from diet and exercise (meaning burn more calories daily than you eat) and the weight will come off all over the body.

I've reincorporated squats into my program too (lifting at a new gym) and love them! It's targeting where I need to target. Lots of weight loss has left me with a flat butt...squatting will help me lift it again I do my lifting in a circuit with little rest in between exercises and it's been working for me. I alternate upper and lower body days with moderate weights. I am continually able to increase weights about every other week. So I agree that targeting is not possible, she will just have to workout to maximize fat loss. BTW, congrats on the baby

I agree - squats and walking lunges hurt like hell the next day! But I wouldn't be without them in my workouts! I do the exact same workout as my husband, and he pushes the shit out of me, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I, too, get frustrated alot when my husband diets with me, because he loses faster than I do. But if her diet is in place, just sticking with it and being diligent will work - and it'll come off..and firm up!

You didn't say whether this was her first child or not, but if not - it's a little harder to lose the weight the second or third time around, but it can be done!

Yeah, don't rub in your weight loss.... that'll really piss her off! It would me!

Well she is feeling it this morning, but agrees that her glutes are certainly where she feels it most. Walking lunges we did not try, but I will offer that to her next time. I worked her through several movements just giving her options to form her own routijne. Squats are a must regardless though.

Thanks for the help girls, now I just need to get her to register.

If you want her to stick with it find something she likes - I find with women more often than not they love a group class like pilates, which is great for her butt and her abs and she will meet people quickly.

Or if there is a post natal class like Mommy and Me or something like that it will probably be something she wil really enjoy, plus they focus on those areas. Good luck!
Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.
