    over training?

my friend does 200 crunches and 100 pushups everyday. he told me to do the same but i was wondering if this would be over training and actaully harm me instead of help me.

You need to realise that training is not a dick measuring competition.

Oh, and anything you can do 200 reps of, is probably a bit easy champ. Man up and do something harder, like some core strength work, with maybe 50 crunches, you sissy.

"My friend told me....." Fuck off. Is he a qualified PT? Is he an experienced lifter? The people on here are (im a PT), and you might want to listen to them. We have tried.

more often than not, people dont realize that the abs need to be trained the SAME ways as every other body part. low weight high reps are going to give you the toned look but say hypathetically if you were to hold a 25 lb plate while doing your crunches your going to eventually get the deep cuts in your abs.

Everyone trains abs differently i guess but ive found more success by training them the same way i do everything else. I surely dont crank out 200 reps on bench press or squat though.

JUST a bench and some free weights? With JUST a bench and some free weights i went from 112lbs to 170lbs in my room over the course of a few years.

    Planks require no equipment.

Lying Trunk Extensions require no equipment.

Both are much harder than crunches, and are actually useful.

If you want to waste your time, do 200 crunches a day. Shit, do 2000 if you like. If you want results, stop listening to people who know nothing, and start learning!

Yeah, i do like them. You dont need much weight to really hit your entire body pretty hard.
