    supersets.

Are these good to do every work out? what are the advantages/disadvantages. I have been doing them for about a week/two weeks now, and all they have done is make me fatigue a lot quicker, and i use a lot lighter weight then normal. Any ideas/ help?

Well for things like squats and deads I dont like supersetting those since they take so much out of me. But I will superset oh presses with laterals. Or superset bench with DB Rows. Just depends. I definitly dont think your short changing yourself. Take a look at P Funk's journal he supersets all the time.

It can be used for anything just depends on your diet mainly. I know if I was looking more torwards strength and power I wouldnt do much of it. But I like to use it for more leaning out than anything. Plus if I am running behind theres nothing better.

I would say yes. Why not? However football players just do so much running, so I would concentrate on power and strength as a football player, where as a boxer I would be more about agility and quickness. Of course the same can be said for a boxer. However look at MMA guys. None of them are massive. The best ones are for the most part strong, but not massive.

i dont really care to superset compound lifts. the reasoning i ever superset is to keep intensity level up. Though i wont superset the same body parts like hammers and curls.

as far as for ANY athlete supersetting are terrific. just for the fact that the rest time is very limited and unless your playing shuffleboard (i dunno if you could consider them athletes) most sports require high intensity and i see it just making more sense supersetting for an athlete.

I definitly wouldnt superset squat and deads. However I think a person could superset bench and rows. I am pretty sure Yellowmomba does it. And hes a strong fella.

Depends what type of superset you are talking. I like supersetting an upper and lower movement, a push and a pull, a lower body movement and a core stability exercise, etc. Supersets where you mix "non-interfering" exercises are great for saving time while keeping your strength up there.

Pre/post exhaust supersets are totally valid on occasion if your goal is hypertrophy, but I still wouldn't do this all the time. Intense effort techniques like that can take a lot out of you if done all the time.

With virtually all of my clients we use supersets or trisets. It is a really efficient way of performing exercises; you can get a lot done in a short period of time.

Try carb cutting and incorporate a refeed once a week. Check out a sticky Jodi has in the nutrition forum. Keep your cals around maintence without cardio and add some cardio and put yourself in about a 300 caloric deficiency. That ought to take care of it.

I think they're great for conditioning. This program im on now is the first one i've done made up entirely of supersets.

If you leave a rest interval between the exercises, and in a way just alternate two or three exercises for the whole superset, i think its very do-able, but just hard enough for you to curse yourself for doing this.

There is a great Power/Rep Range/Shock article in the stickies. I tend to employ supersets during the the shock component of my program.

Drop sets are also great too.
